Harry Nicky

  1. 31 Things about Harry......

She was a mini cat

We got her when we lived on Elberon Ave in NJ

John named her Harry and when we told him she was a "she" he said okay,

"Harry Nicky".

She was never, ever mean to people.

She would not let us have another kitty...she was very mean to them if we tried and once chased a prospective new pet high in a tree.

She loved chicken and always knew when it was on the menu.

She loved to lounge in the warm sun outside or in the sunroom.

She adjusted beautifully to the farm and enjoyed the last two years of her long life there.

She slept with us everynight.

She drank my water or tea on the bedstand every time she saw a cup arrive.

She thought it was undignified to be chased by that darn duck

She sat on the nightstand in our kitchen and leaned on my shoulders at dinner to see if there was anything she might like.

She loved to be near any of us, no matter where we went she would follow.

She hated to be "put away" when there was company coming and we thought she might be too pesky for them.

She loved to be pet especially under her arms and her ears.

She purred plenty.

She loved milk even though she shouldn't have it.

She loved tuna and chuncks of cheese.

She was a playful kitten.

She liked the dogs, especially brownie.

Brownie would share her dinner with her if she had to.

Bill loved his Harry and gave her lots of attention.

The donkeys would check her out and nudge her with their noses and she didn't care.

I was always afraid the garage door would close on her and she would just be scratching her back on it!

John fed her all the time.

Bill and I thought she was such a beautiful cat.

She loved to climb right up until she died.

When we would take walks she would stalk us all the way around the block.

When we lived on Smoketree Drive in her younger days she would run up trees to show off when we went outside.

We will miss her presence and devotion after nearly 20 years with us.

Love your blog. I live in between Carrboro & Hillsborough, and have recently gotten 2 young mini donkeys - both of whom are terrific. I check every few days to see what your crew is up to.

What a great memorial. Although she could be quite pesky at times, there isn't a truly negative thing to say about her. Can't wait to see you soon!
