Hank joins the farm!

Well the rain finally stopped and I was able to bring my camera outside and get a few shots of Hank before my battery died. It was a beautiful day and Giuseppe enjoyed spending a longer time getting acquainted with us. He even let me pick some briars out of his coat. He is terribly jealous of Hank though and doesn't want me to give him any attention. Still prone to chasing poor Hank who baaas loudly, but now gets out of reach most of the time.

Red Dog Farm

If you want to know more about Red Dog Farm check out their website at http://www.reddogfarm.com/. They are doing great work! We look forward to fostering with them in the near future. In the meantime we know our donkey needs another donkey friend and are on the lookout for another. To help him feel less lonely while we search we got him a goat named Hank. What an adventure that was. No pics yet since it has poured rain for two days now. Giuseppe wasn't so sure he really wanted a sibling after all. Bill and I being rookie farmers thought it was a disaster. Hank wanted to be very near Giuseppe, and Giuseppe just wanted to chase, bite, kick, and back Hank into a corner. We gave them separate living quarters but Hank bucked his way through the fence to get back into the main pen. After a frantic call to Hank's former "real" farmer we were assured that it would be okay and locked Hank in the stable for the night. Today things were much better. Hank learned to back off a bit and Giuseppe mellowed out, although he is still pouting.

Best Christmas Friend!

Hello All,
What a surprise Bill gave me for Christmas this year. You may know that we have been preparing some of our property so that we could become foster parents for small farm animals. During our research I feel in love with mini donkeys! He was so very sweet right from the start. John came up with the name...Italian for Joseph since he came to live with us at Christmas.
